My goal was to portray the Luna moth as a symbol of fleeting beauty. I wanted the darkness of the nighttime setting to make the moths appear almost luminous, creating a dreamlike moment where the viewer feels as though they have stepped quietly into a moonlit forest.

The painting combines expressive brushwork, glowing color, darkness, and atmosphere to tell a visual story about a creature whose adult life is incredibly brief—but whose beauty leaves a lasting impression.
