With its rust-colored fur, striped tail, and expressive face, the red panda is perfectly adapted to its forest home. Bamboo makes up much of its diet, and its long tail helps it balance as it moves through the canopy.

I painted this red panda surrounded by bamboo and drifting mist to capture more than its beauty. I wanted to create a quiet moment-a reminder that protecting a species also means protecting the forest it calls home.
