Whales Majestic Breach

Humpback whales breach for several possible reasons, including to communicate with other whales using the loud splash as a signal, to remove parasites and algae from their skin, to exercise and maintain fitness for migration, and for other social and territorial displays. The behavior can also be a display of dominance, a part of mating rituals, or even a form of play.
